The Wish Finalist Announcement Update!

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all! Somehow, insanely, The Wish is now a finalist for the Safe In Our World Game Dev Champions game jam! I think I need to go quietly implode from excitement. Please excuse me...
When I started this project, it was just a tiny little linear thing made in a week for Godot Wild Jam. But with the encouragement of some very kind fellow jammers*, it soon turned into my very first attempt at something bigger! Even though this jam was almost half over, the idea of using games to talk about mental health resonated with me and I knew I had to jump in. And even though I am but a pathetic infant in the ways of game development... and even though the pacing, and art, and music, and a zillion other things could've been a heck of a lot better... I'm still happy it's putting a smile on at least a few faces. Knowing that makes the whole fight more than worth it!
Sometimes it's easy to get so bogged down in our own personal mud puddles that we lose the ability to laugh at ourselves. I hope The Wish offers a splash of comic whimsy that makes the serious parts of growing up a little easier to handle. When we can see ourselves for how silly we can be, nothing seems quite so big or scary anymore.
Life's like rolling dice. Don't be afraid to try things anyway!
